This site is a reference work for used Hi-Fi. Look up any brand or model and you get what it is, roughly what it asks on the used market, and where it's currently listed for sale. Around the catalog sits a set of beginner guides for the questions people actually have: what to buy, how to connect it, why it hums.

Where the data comes from

The catalog is built by crawling public listings data monthly. Prices shown are medians of asking prices, which is not the same as sold prices; we say "median asking" rather than "value" on purpose. Live listings come from the marketplace's own API and link back to it, and our guides cite their sources at the bottom of each page.

How we handle other people's work

Brand names and logos appear only to identify the products they belong to. Photographs in the guides are Creative Commons or public domain, with the photographer and license named under each image. Marketplace listing photos are never copied or stored: they display while the listing is live and disappear with it.

What this is not

Not a shop, and not a dealer. Nothing here is for sale through us, no listing is ours, and prices are observations rather than offers. When the site names a fair price, it is a summary of what the market currently asks, nothing more.
